Samples

This is an example of foil printing. You use a silk screen to put the glue onto the fabric, wait for this to dry before placing the foil over the glue and pressing. You then peel away the backing of the foil and are left with your foil print.

This is an example of foil printing with a variety of scrap pieces of foil. I think this look is effective.

This is an example of foil printing over screen printing. I think this would have been more effective if I'd used a different colour dye to screen print.
I screen printed a graduation in shades of blue. I think the graduation of shades is effective but the blue has a cold feel to it and I want my dress to represent a warm summers evening. To screen print dies are forced through a silk screen.

I used the sunset colours from my inspirational image in this screen print and think it worked really effectively.

Using hand embroidery I copied one of my images off my mood board.

I hand painted my tree with fabric paints and although I think this came out really well, I thought this would be too time consuming for my final design

I made my own felt using traditional felting methods of robbing wool  with warm soapy water. Here , I had backed it with a mesh fabric but this didn't offer me the look I wanted for my final design.
I created my own felt but between layers added items to it such as the gold star sequins and fancy wools to give it texture. This looks good but I didn't find an appropriate place to use it in my final design, especially as it was also very time consuming.

I tried to recreate another of the images off my mood board  with beading, the darker blue beads are glues and the silver ones are hand sewn, this doesn't look as good as I'd hoped
